Netafim Air Vents are the most efficient way to control air in greenhouse and nursery irrigation systems. Each air vent is manufactured with the highest quality corrosion-resistant fiberglass with reinforced UV protected nylon - no metal parts to rust or corrode, no need for spare parts. The unique patented rolling seal allows gradual opening, closing and self-cleaning. Hydrodynamic float design ensures vent closure as water fills the system and remains open when air pressure reaches 10 psi. When properly sized and placed, our air vents provide reliable operation reducing water hammer incidents and ensuring maximum protection of your irrigation system. |
COMBINATION AIR/VACUUM RELIEF AND
CONTINUOUS ACTING AIR VENTS
This is the ideal air vent for release of large volumes of air at pump and filtration stations, along mains, and at the end of mainlines. They should be located at high points in the pipe network or upstream of manifolds and every 1,000' along mainlines 6" and larger. The maximum operating pressure for 1" or 2" Combination Air Vents is 150 psi. |
|
- During start-up, the vent releases large volumes of air.
- As the system builds pressure, the body fills with water, forcing the float upwards and closing the vent.
- While the system is pressurized, the "automatic" function continuously expels accumulated air.
- At shutdown, the vent's large opening allows air back into the system preventing the pipe and accessories from collapsing, and preventing suction of mud and debris.

GUARDIAN AIR AND VACUUM RELIEF AIR VENTS
These air vents are commonly used downstream of valves, primarily at manifolds, to release large amounts of air when the system is charging and to break vacuum caused by system draining. On sloping terrain, they are used to prevent collapsing of pipes caused by vacuum when pipe networks drain. The shrader valve option is ideal for measuring local line pressure. Available in 3/4", 1" and 2" sizes - shrader valve option only available on 3/4" and 1". The maximum operating pressure for all Guardian Air Vents is 150 psi.

- Releases large quantities of air through an opening equal to a large size standard vent. As water enters, the float rises and forces the vent to close.
- During normal flow, while the line is under pressure, the vent remains closed.
- As the line empties, or during a drop in pressure, the float drops down and opens the vent. Air is admitted, breaking the vacuum created by the withdrawing water and preventing the collapse of pipelines as well as suction of soil into dripperlines.
